This workshop focuses on how Human Resource practitioners support diversity, challenge unconscious bias, and build equity into recruitment and talent management processes and practices.
HR practitioners play a key role in identifying and challenging unconscious biases in recruitment, selection, promotion, and talent review processes. They also play an important role in coaching business leaders to promote an inclusive culture where diversity of think ing, perspectives, and background of team members is respected.
By the end of the session, participants will be able to:
- Avoid the use of biased language when writing job descriptions and vacancy adverts specification
- Sift and shortlist candidates fairly and without bias
- Mitigate unconscious bias in interviewing and decision-making
From design to delivery, we tailor our training to align with your business case and organisational culture. This training offers an immersive experience and delegates will leave the workshop able to find practical applications of their newfound diversity knowledge in everyday work situations.
The following key messages are explored throughout the workshop:
- Diversity and inclusion are important business priorities
- Understanding and reducing unconscious bias is essential to fair and equitable decision-making
- Unconscious biases - particularly those relating to gender, culture, and age - can impact talent identification, selection and recruitment processes, as well as other talent management processes
